WRI Indonesia

WRI Indonesia
World Resources Institute (WRI) is a global nonprofit organization that works with leaders in government, business and civil society to research, design, and carry out practical solutions that simultaneously improve people’s lives and ensure nature can thrive. Jakarta has joined Cities4Forests— a WRI’s initiative to help cities around the world to connect with and invest in forests.

Together with DKI Jakarta’s Parks and Forestry Agency (DISTAMHUT), WRI is working together on rehabilitating the network of urban parks and forests in Jakarta to reach the goals of minimum coverage of 20 percent of the city to be filled with natural biodiversity. WRI is assisting Jakarta in mapping the numbers of trees and green coverage. The real-time data will become the basis of future data-driven policy on nurturing the natural habitat of the city.
