C40 is a network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. C40 supports cities to collaborate effectively, share knowledge and drive meaningful, measurable, and sustainable action on climate change.
In 2019, the Jakarta Government signed a collaboration with C40 to develop a Climate Action Plan (CAP) aligned with the Paris Agreement. The CAP acts as a strategic document that sets out the evidence used to develop Jakarta-specific climate targets and actions to achieve this, and the implementation between now and 2030 towards low carbon development in 2050. It aims to strengthen the current climate actions and propose new initiatives that will help accelerate the actions. Jakarta has also been working together with C40 on the expansion of BRTs and E-Buses across Jakarta.
