Vital Strategies, as the implementing partner of Bloomberg Philanthropies, has been working together with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta to improve air quality in Jakarta through the Jakarta Clean Air Partnership. This joint initiative centres on collecting evidence to formulate evidence-based policies related to air quality improvement, policy analysis and solutions, and improving public awareness on the health impacts of air pollution.

Since the program launch in September 2020, Vital Strategies alongside the Environmental Agency of DKI Jakarta have published Toward Cleaner Air Jakarta 2030 and the Source Appointment Study with Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), conducted an emission inventory study, conducted a study for feasibility in implementing stringent emission standard for stationary sources in Jakarta, conducting air pollution health impact assessment, and developing the Jakarta Rendah Emisi website.
